How We Grade Our Plays.
The same rules for every play, in every sport, win or lose.
Every Play Is Time-Stamped
Each play is time-stamped the moment it is released, in Pacific and Eastern time, and goes out to members right then.
Graded at the Number We Released
Every play goes out with the sportsbook and the number it was released at, and it is graded at that number. Never at a better number found later.
- Early Release plays are graded at the opening number.
- Game Day plays are graded at the number they are released at, about 20 minutes before kickoff.
Wins, Losses and Pushes
The result comes from the official final score, overtime included. When the final lands exactly on the number, the play is a push. Pushes are shown on the record but do not count as wins or losses.
Units
Every play risks 1 unit at standard -110 pricing:
- A win adds +0.91 units.
- A loss costs 1.00 unit.
- A push is 0.
ROI is the units won divided by the units risked.
Beating the Closing Number
After the game we compare the number we released with DraftKings’ closing number, as recorded by ESPN. If our number was better than where the line closed, the play beat the close. The Record page shows how often our plays beat it.
Pulled Plays
A play pulled before its game starts is marked PULLED. It is not graded and it is never erased. The Record page shows how many were pulled.
Each Game Counts Once
A game counts once in every record, even when it meets more than one of our standards.
What the Public Record Shows
Results by week, sport, star rating and club: the record, winning percentage, units, ROI and how often our number beat the close. Single plays are not listed on the public record.
Check Codes
Every play carries a check code built from the sport, the teams, the play and its release time. If any of those were changed after the fact, the code would no longer match.
Club Records
The club records (5-Star Plays 72.2%, Early Release Club 65.4%, Game Day Club 60.6%) cover every past game that met each club’s standard, graded by these same rules and counted once. Every play released on this site is added to the Record page as its game goes final.
